Charlie Kirk’s Legacy Deserves No Mourning by Elizabeth Spiers in the The Nation is a eulogy for a vile man who did despicable things to advance a hateful far-right cause. We do not owe him (or those surviving him) our respect or civility.

KDL has been around for a little while, but I just learned about it last week. It’s a configuration language, like YAML, JSON, and others. It has a nice syntax that is sorta Shell-y and sorta YAML-y.

Anil Dash wrote about Tim Cook, and his behavior vis-à-vis the current US regime.

The Golden State Valkyries ended their playoff run last week against the Minnesota Lynx. Their first season was incredible. They set new records of attendance at all their games, including selling out every home game. I’m very much looking forward to seeing the Valkyries play again next year, and looking forward to continuing to cheer on the Mercury for the remainder of the playoffs!

Apparently Pokémon cards are good investment in 2025.

Pokémon cards, which pay no dividends and aren’t subject to financial regulation, have seen a roughly 3,821% monthly cumulative return since 2004, according to an index by analytics firm Card Ladder tracking trading-card values through August. That trounces the S&P 500’s 483% jump over the same period.

Somewhere, I have a binder full of these cards that’s now worth a pretty penny.
