Artemis Ⅱ
NASA’s Artemis Ⅱ mission launches today, assuming everything goes to plan. They are planning to take a crew of four astronauts around the moon and back again.
It’s extremely exciting to see humans going to the moon again!
Update 2026-04-02: The rocket lifted out and reached orbit with no major hiccups. Always a relief.
The astronauts are making a few orbits of Earth to test their equipment, then will make a single pass flyby of the Moon. On the far side of the moon—because their lunar orbit will be larger than those of the Apollo missions—they’ll have gone farther than any human has ever gone in space.
Also I replaced the live stream YouTube link above with the recap video. The full stream is no longer available.
