Weeknotes for 2024W21

Several people in my circles have been attemtping weekly-ish posts summarizing things they’ve been doing, thinking, reading, watching, etc over the previous week. I really like that idea, so I’m going to give it a try.

Last Friday night, Tess and I took EJ to a Bay FC game with some friends. It was her first sports event, and a good game to boot!

I’ve been playing a lot of Minesweeper the last few months as an idle activity. Mostly, I use the lofi & games version because it’s simple and easily accessible.

Inspired by the hype around SwiftUI, plus my fascination with Minesweeper, I’ve been working on a SwiftUI implementation of the game for myself.

This is my second week going to the gym on a regular cadence to do some exercise. I’ve been using Apple Fitness+ workout videos and trying not be feel too uncool being the person doing a workout video in the gym. I’m learning some exercises I can use to build my own routines though, and they’re definitely good workouts.

The Deep Sky by Yume Kitasei. A murder mystery set on a space ship on a long-term mission to colonize another planet. Given to me by a friend last winter.

How Reporting on a 1978 Proposal to Ban Gay Teachers Changed My Understanding of Queer History. Slow Burn’s current season is about the Brigg’s Initiative, an attempt to ban gays and lesbians from working in California public schools.

Half-Ass It.
