Notes on Week 16 of 2026
This was a week with no Artemis news, which is decidedly less fun than weeks with Artemis news.
Did you know that NASA publishes a tremendous amount of source code on Github? That includes cFS which serves as a foundation for many software packages installed on spacecraft and satellites.
Tess and I made this Orzo with Roasted Vegetables recipe for dinner with Erin one evening. We used kabocha instead of zucchini, and we both thought it was excellent.
Speaking of food, this was my third straight week of meal planning. Feeling good about that, and I think it has helped us have somewhat less stressful evenings when we know the dinner plan ahead of time.
Connie, a former colleague, wrote a short post about about her meditation retreat. I liked her photo of the trees.
A college friend of mine, Harris, wrote about passkeys back in February.
A coworker linked this YouTube video in a work chat that goes through a bunch of visual effects for closing windows available to GNOME and KDE users on Linux.
This took me right back to the early days of compiz, when I’d spend hours hacking up my window manager to do stupid things like make my windows wobble and catch fire, and virtual desktops render on a multifaceted 3D cylinder.
This calculator is beautiful. And well out of my price range.
